A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth center in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, and fitness opportunities. As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active citizens capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.
Dance Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Programs
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Full-time (schedule may vary)
Salary Range: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour

Summary
The Dance Coordinator plans, organizes, administers, instructs and supervises dance department staff and activities for APCH members.

Computer Science Instructor
Reports to: Director of Programs
FLSA Status: Part-Time Non-exempt
Hours: Part-time (schedule may vary)

Summary
The Computer Sciences Instructor is responsible for designing and delivering quality curricula and instruction to APCH youth and family members from 8 years on up through adulthood. Classes should include basic introduction to computer use, popular software titles, and email/online functions through basic web design, media software, and vocational skills.
Qualifications
To perform this important job successfully, the Computer Sciences Instructor must be able to fulfill all of the elements of the Job Description to the highest standard, and be able to work well with colleagues in a high energy, collaborative environment with open communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Tracks member participation and progress in computer science classes
- Provides supervision for the lab during classes and open lab times
- Conduct evaluations for students
- Development and implementation of computer sciences curriculum and digital media curriculum
- Attend all required program meetings (weekly check-in, monthly staff meetings, bi-monthly department meetings, etc.)
- Submit program reports (monthly, class reports)
- Responsible for creating a visually exciting, fun and clean learning environment (posters, bulletin boards)
- Responsible for daily maintenance of laboratory systems (Three labs)
- Reports computer maintenance, upgrades, and software concerns in a timely matter to IT Coordinator and immediate supervisor
- Supervise assigned volunteers
Other Responsibilities
- Remain informed of best practices, software updates, and resources in order to keep APCH technology up to date and in excellent working condition
- Train staff on technology use and updates as needed
- Work in collaboration with Development and Administrative staff to maintain and update APCH website
- Configure and maintain social networking sites as directed
- Upload video, music, imagery to APCH website and other sites as directed
- Attend internal or external meetings as requested or required
- Regular attendance, accountability and punctuality with regard to work meetings and commitments
- Perform other tasks as assigned

IT Technician
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for all computer maintenance and improvement of technology systems at APCH. This includes configuring, troubleshooting, back-up, and regular maintenance of staff and student systems. Provide reliable high quality advice and service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Technician assumes the following responsibilities under the direction and in collaboration with the Chief Operations Officer and/or other senior staff members:
- Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all times
- Maintain current and thorough knowledge of the industry in order to service the technical needs of A Place Called Home and provide insight and advise to maintain systems in a competitive fashion
Software
- Install new software
- Ensure anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stations
- Set up and maintain user e-mail accounts
- Safeguard assets through performance of accurate and timely maintenance of computer systems and server
Hardware
- Check new and donated computer equipment on arrival and install as appropriate
- Provide and maintain inventory with placement/analysis of all APCH systems
- Maintain computer peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, whiteboards, projectors; ensure that these are prepared and ready to be used upon request
- Maintain log of all technical failures reported/requests for service and assistance
- Resolve reported failures/requests for service in timely manner
- Liaison with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contract
Network Management
- Check the network back-up logs
- Set up, maintain and remove user network accounts where appropriate
- Carry out routine network maintenance tasks
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (hubs, switches, router, servers) and keep log of any damage
- Secure file storage for select files
- Configure and maintain server so as to provide individualized access
- Edit privileges/access to networked calendar with sub calendars delineated by program and other sub categories
Other Responsibilities

- Train staff on technology use and updates as needed
- Work in collaboration with Development and Administrative staff to maintain website
